BE7A submerged with textpattern

September 18th, 2005 | Posted in cms

I’m pleased to announce my first entry log using textpattern which is now powering BE7A EX7ENSION. Textpattern had capture my attention few months ago when surfing around online. After reading their capabilities, testmonial, community site, and lurking around their forum discussion, I just had to try it. Basically, it’s a CMS for all kinds of websites. After messing with Textpattern for some time, I have to say it ROCKS! I’m just amazed how easy it is to work with, yet so much depth to learn from. The old ways of coding websites had left me agitated since it took so much of my time. Now with textpattern, organization and customization are the biggest thing that designers and programmers alike could ever dream of. Any type of manual coding would cut down three times the labor. You can simply turn on or off on certain content or rearrange the information with ease. You can always reuse the template and plug in the information with a string of command code. So far I’ve uncovered about 30% of what it is capable of. I can’t wait to learn more about it as I go along.

TextPatternThe learning curve on this software depends on what you know. You may need to know these languages beforehand - HTML, CSS and basic understanding of Javascript. Although, you can still have basic website up and running without any experience. The truth is the more complex your website is, the more you’ll have to properly code them. If you possess these knowledge then you shouldn’t have problem learning textpattern. Anyone can do this.

However, it wasn’t a cake walk when I first learned Textpattern. It was rather difficult to decipher the software itself only because I wanted the results quickly without reading the basics thoroughly. A stupid move on my part and it’s not worth the time or the frustration by skipping these fundlementals. Typically, this lesson ought to be learned a long time ago, but the lack of patient got the better of me. So before you try your hands on it, have patience and understand it well.

In the meantime, I’ll be tweaking this site as I go along. I may even redesign the whole website after learning Textpattern like the back of my hand. Only this time, it will take less time for me to set it up and still retain data without any fear of losing it. Check out these examples and see what they’re capable of. From there, you’ll find source code you could learn from and study how it works. If you like what you’re seeing, but don’t want to fret with any coding then look me up and we’ll see where we go from there.

To be honest with you, I have never written any comments or posts in the Internet. This is my first time. Why did I decide to post? The answer is simple – all information here is so amazing and interesting that it’s hard to imagine someone wouldn’t comment it.
